Meet The Face Behind Two Sisters Catering
I’m Veah V. Larde, proud owner of Two Sisters Catering.
I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better as I share my story.
I started Two Sisters Catering in 2012 because I wanted to deliver an experience through food. I observed a lack of quality customer service and desire to deliver an experience to each client and their guests.
I’ve always had a love of creating and presenting food to friends and family from an early age and dreamed of owning my own event space or café at the age of fifteen. I enjoy working with people. Discovering who clients are during a consultation, what their needs may be and presenting them my interpretation of their vision became something I was passionate about. It is this passion that drove me to venture into business.
I began researching what was necessary in 2012 to open an online delivery catering business and started completing the checklist from there. Officially we started in June of 2012 and continued for four years, I temporarily closed to take care of health issues in my immediate family. But we’re back now, since June 2018 and I’m excited about the future. My vision is to create a detailed customer-focused company that ensures each client has a unique and memorable experience.
The most rewarding part of my work is to receive a review and referral from a client, especially when it details the hard work of my team. When we received our first print mention, it was for The Power event in July 2015, we were a dessert sponsor. That acknowledgment is something I cherish.
This business for me is the realization of a dream that has been in the making for several years. My career has seen me through several management positions across the city and suburbs of Chicago from 2004 to 2018. As an individual, having gained a wealth of experience and knowledge, I believe what sets me apart from others are the values I’ve honed through my experiences.
I’m a real go-getter with a can-do spirit, so I believe that nothing is unattainable. Constant coaching and following up to ensure everyone involved understands what is required and how to achieve it is something I always do. I understand the need to take personal ownership of the initial contact, the checklist, and the final execution and cleanup of all events. Good communication, honesty, and respect for each individual staff person; each client, each vendor and all guests ensure a successful event.
It’s because of all these values - along with hard work, determination, sweat, tears, and continual prayer – that I’ve been successful.
When I am not at work, I like to watch documentaries and competition BBQ shows. I try to unplug and allow my mind a chance to relax. On a social level, I am passionate about giving back and I’m a big supporter of Breast Cancer Organizations and the American Diabetes Association.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
